The shirt
design is an original idea created by Libby Farrow and hand drawn by Nick
Farrow. The Japanese characters used in the design translate to, what in
essence means, spiritual strength or strength with perseverance – something
that is needed for the people of Japan at this difficult time.

THE
SITUATION Some
550,000 people have been evacuated into emergency shelters following the March
11 earthquake and tsunami that killed at least 10,000 people – and damaged all
six reactors at the
Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power station. Food, water and medical items are in
short supply and millions are without power in near-freezing temperatures.
WHO ARE
PEACE WINDS? Peace Winds
Japan is one of the largest Japanese organizations providing humanitarian
relief to the affected areas. 100% of donations made to Peace Winds America go
to Peace Winds Japan & will directly aid in the immediate needs of earthquake and tsunami
victims.
WHAT
ROCKSTAR REVOLUTION ARE DOING
To help
survivors of the devastation, ROCKSTAR REVOLUTION will donate 40% of all
proceeds from the sales of their ‘STRENGTH FOR JAPAN’ design to Peace Winds
America – a partner of Peace Winds Japan.
WHY WE
ARE DONATING A
lot of people around the world want to help and have been donating to various
international organizations (mainly the American Red Cross). We think this is
great and with the money being transferred to the Japanese Red Cross this money
will be used well. However, we also
believe there is a need to donate funds directly to local Japanese
organizations that don’t have access to this type of fund raising. We
know that language barriers and lack of knowledge can also prevent people from
donating to the right place. This is why we have chosen a Japanese Organization
that we know, trust and recommend as the beneficiary of our campaign. Here at ROCKSTAR
REVOLUTION we want to make sure that the most possible amount of money we
collect will get directly to the people on the ground in Japan who are currently
suffering. Immediate needs such as food, tents, masks & heaters are what
we are presently concerned with. This is why we have chosen PWA as the
beneficiary of our campaign. At
present, they are giving 100% of all money they receive (which is amazing and
also really REALLY rare) to PWJ, who are on the ground providing emergency
relief for disaster victims evacuated from homes in four tsunami-stricken
cities in northeastern Japan.
